Roger Harris
Chief Operating Officer, Odeon and UCI Cinemas
Roger has 19 years cinema experience and was appointed Chief Operating Officer for Odeon and UCI cinemas in MAY 2005. He joined UCI, as Managing Director for UK and Ireland in 2002 from Famous Players in Canada - the leader in terms of market share, box office and retail performance. His career at Famous Players took him from Director of Cinema Operations in 1988 to the position of Senior Executive Vice President and General Manager; he also served as VP Marketing and Senior VP Marketing and Retail.
Roger has provided strong leadership, stability and direction to establish the largest cinema circuit in the United Kingdom. He has worked closely with the Executive and UK Senior Management Team to develop a five year plan for the UK business. He has been instrumental in driving the Company’s expansion plan and supporting key initiatives. These initiatives include the introduction of new retail offers and best practice: launching of a new guest service programme at Odeon Cinemas: integration of web-sites and telephone sales with improved information and services for guests and roll-out of premier seating across the combined estate. He has overseen the ambitious growth of the circuit and Odeon will open ten new cinemas in the next five years including flagship locations in Liverpool, Newcastle, Glasgow, Belfast and London.
Roger graduated with an MSc BA from Bath University in 1984 after completing a first degree in Economics in 1979.
